PNB LBO Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection for the Local Bank Officer post is carried out in up to four stages, and the Bank reserves the right to decide which of these to use:

  1. Online Written Test
  2. Screening
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT), if applicable
  4. Personal Interview

Online Written Test Pattern

Test NameQuestionsMax. MarksDuration
Reasoning & Computer Aptitude252535 minutes
Data Analysis & Interpretation252535 minutes
English Language252525 minutes
Quantitative Aptitude252535 minutes
General/Economy/Banking Awareness505050 minutes

There is negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to each wrongly answered question. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS candidates and 35% for Reserved category candidates in each section, subject to the Bank’s discretion to revise this.

Screening, LLPT and Interview

After the written test, applications and documents of qualified candidates are screened for eligibility. Candidates who haven’t studied the applicable state’s local language in Class 10 or 12 must clear the qualifying LLPT; failing it makes a candidate ineligible for final selection regardless of other scores. Shortlisted candidates then face a Personal Interview worth 50 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 45% (22.5 marks) for SC/ST candidates and 50% (25 marks) for others.

Final Selection

Final selection depends on combined performance in the Online Written Test and Interview, subject to qualifying the LLPT wherever applicable. The merit list is prepared state-wise and category-wise, and in case of a tie, the older candidate by date of birth ranks higher.
